So what is astrology? Astrology is the study of celestial bodies, how they interact, and how the interactions affect life on Earth. Those who study or practice astrology are called Astrologers. Astrological occurances have been studied and followed by humanity for thousands of years in all cultures across the globe and often integrated with societal structure and religions. Modern astrology is predominantly split between two traditions: Vedic and Western. Within Western astrology there are a myriad of various styles and traditions that are followed that vary from astrologer to astrologer. I practice western astrology and pull my interpretations from a blend of modern, humanistic, evolutionary and hellenistic traditional practices.

Planets
Planets, luminaries, and astral bodies that transit around the Sun in a set pattern that allows us to see the correspondences between the planets’ alignment with Earth and the occurrences happening in our lives and with humanity as a collective.
Basic Components of Astrology
Zodiac Signs
A delineation of space into 12 equal sections encompassing 360 degrees from the perspective of Earth. Each of the zodiac signs is 30 degrees of the wheel. The signs give a quality and nature to the planetary alignments.
Houses & Aspects
Houses are segments of the astrology chart showing the area of life or topics affected by the planets and signs. Aspects are mathematical angles that show how the planetary energies are interacting with each other.
